Over 12,000 Residents Join Sherman’s Telephone Town Hall & Sound Off on Trump’s Return to the Presidency
Sherman Oaks, California – Last night, a record of over 12,000 residents joined Congressman Brad Sherman’s (CA-32) Telephone Town Hall to voice their thoughts on Donald Trump’s return to the White House and seek Sherman’s insight into the ramifications for the district, the country and the world.
“While it’s clear that so many of my constituents are deeply concerned over Trump’s return, the overwhelming participation in this Town Hall also underscored our community’s unwavering energy and spirit of civic engagement,” said Congressman Sherman. “That’s why I’m grateful that so many residents joined our important discussion last night where I worked to address many concerns and emphasize how together, we can stand tall against any harmful policies and fight for a brighter future.”
In the first Telephone Town Hall since the fateful outcome of the 2024 Presidential election, Congressman Sherman reassured thousands of worried constituents on the line that he remains committed to fighting for our community’s values in Washington under a second Trump administration. He outlined key legislative priorities, including working to lower prescription drug prices, improve the economy, preserve vital civil liberties for LGBTQ+ Americans and protecting immigrant rights.
Callers expressed a range of concerns to Congressman Sherman regarding many aspects of the incoming Trump administration’s agenda – from the potential rollback of key rights and safeguards, including healthcare and environmental protections, to mass deportation programs, and threats to our democracy and global alliances.
Congressman Sherman worked to address concerns by encouraging residents to remain informed, engaged, and active in the democratic process. He emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration to protect the principles of justice and equality. “Our institutions are going to be strained. Our Constitution will be tested. I think our institutions will survive…but we as a country need to come together.”
