Sherman’s Town Hall: Over 3,000 Joined to Express Gratitude to Biden, Support for VP Harris and Enthusiasm for LA Olympics

July 26, 2024

Sherman Oaks, California – Last night, over 3,000 residents joinedCongressman Brad Sherman’s (CA-32) fourth Telephone Town Hall of the year to voice their thoughts on one of the most consequential periods in our nation’s history.

“As we navigate through such unprecedented national events, keeping my constituents informed every step of the way remains a top priority,” said Congressman Sherman. “That’s why I’m grateful to the thousands of residents who joined our Town Hall last night where I was able to keep them informed and listen to their thoughts and concerns on all the issues we are facing together.”

Congressman Sherman started the event by addressing the monumental decision by President Joe Biden regarding his future. Sherman lauded the President’s decision as “a great act of patriotism” and commended the historic legislative record that President Biden has achieved. The Congressman also illustrated the path forward with Vice President Kamala Harris and what to expect in the fourth and final year of the Biden administration.

Constituents who joined the event largely echoed similar praise and gratitude towards President Biden’s decision and performance as President, while also expressing strong excitement for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Sherman’s Town Hall also demonstrated the San Fernando Valley’s growing enthusiasm for Los Angeles hosting Olympic Games in 2028 – a marked change from 1984 when there was substantial Valley opposition to holding any of the events in Sepulveda Basin or elsewhere in the Valley.

Congressman Sherman was joined by special guest Lindsey Horvath, Chair of the Los Angeles County Supervisors who representsthe 3rd District of Los Angeles County. The youngest woman ever elected to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, Supervisor Horvath provided updates on her recent efforts for robust renter-protection, mass-transit and bicycle access and other priorities for residents of the 3rd District. Supervisor Horvath also spoke on her office’s community outreach efforts and the services her team stands ready to provide for residents in need of assistance.
