Congressional Progressive Caucus

What is the Progressive Caucus?

The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) is made up of nearly 100 members standing up for progressive ideals in Washington and throughout the country.
Since 1991, the CPC has advocated for progressive policies that prioritize working Americans over corporate interests, fight economic and social inequality, and advance civil liberties.
The CPC champions progressive policy solutions like comprehensive immigration reform, good-paying jobs, fair trade, universal health care, debt-free college, climate action, and a just foreign policy.
The Progressive Promise
The Congressional Progressive Caucus believes in government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
Our Progressive Promise is rooted in our core principles:
- (1) Advancing justice, dignity, and peace for all
- (2) Tackling systems of oppression and dismantling structural racism and discrimination
- (3) Taking on systems that privilege the wealthy and powerful to demand a government and economy that works for the people
- (4) A commitment to sweeping, transformative change
