California State University Northridge, High Bay Structural Test Lab

 

The intended recipient is California State University Northridge, located at 1811 Nordhoff Street, Northridge, CA 91330.

 

The High Bay Structural Test Lab is a unique opportunity for California State University Northridge. The technology and equipment in this lab is for the purpose of conducting large-scale static, dynamic, and fatigue testing and research on structural systems and parts with real-world, industry and community applications.

Combatting Crime through Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment, Education and Prevent Programs

 

The intended recipient is Beit T’Shuvah, located at 8831 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90034.

 

This project will focus on reducing crime in the community by offering programs that work together to address the multitude of issues that contribute to the inextricable relationship between addiction and crime.

Community Engagement & Enrichment Center at LA Pierce College

 

The intended recipient is Los Angeles Pierce College, located at 6201 Winnetka Ave, Woodland Hills, CA 91367.

 

Los Angeles Pierce College seeks to create the Community Engagement & Enrichment Center. This center, a beacon of community involvement and learning will protect green spaces and focus on uplifting the underserved population of the San Fernando Valley, providing them with a safe and enriching environment.

Community Security Initiative Program

 

The intended recipient is the Jewish Federation Council of Greater Los Angeles, located at 6505 Wilshire Blvd. Suite 1200, Los Angeles, CA 90048.

 

The Community Security Initiative (CSI) is a response to the threat of terrorism, rising rates of antisemitism and growing concerns from the Jewish community. CSI utilizes the latest technology and world-class expertise to strengthen the security of Jewish schools, synagogues, camps, groups, and organizations and protects the lives of nearly 700,000 men, women and children as they participate in Jewish life in Los Angeles.

Crisis and Incident Response through Community-led Engagement Program

 

The intended recipient is the City of Los Angeles at 200 N Main Street, Suite 1500, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

 

This funding would help to expand the Crisis and Incident Response through Community-led Engagement (CIRCLE) program to Koreatown, Boyle Heights, Pico Union, Crenshaw, North Hollywood, Sun Valley, and the West Valley. CIRCLE is a 24/7 unarmed response program that deploys trained teams to address non-urgent LAPD calls related to unhoused individuals.

Grancell Village Affordable Senior Housing

 

The intended recipient is City of Los Angeles, located at 1500 City Hall East, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

 

City of Los Angeles will build 100 units of affordable senior housing at Grancell Village (Los Angeles Jewish Health) in Reseda, supporting low-income and disabled seniors.

Labor Community Services Food Bank Equipment Needs

 

The intended recipient is the County of Los Angeles, located at 510 S. Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90020.

 

Modernizing and upgrading the Labor Community Services (LCS) Food Bank Warehouse equipment enables LCS to more economically, efficiently, and nimbly serve Los Angeles County community at large.

Los Angeles Fire Department Station Renovations

 

The intended recipient is Los Angeles City Fire, located at 200 N. Main Street, Room 1800, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

 

Fire Stations throughout the San Fernando Valley are in desperate need of repair. The life expectancy of a fire station is 50 years, and 15 fire stations in CD32 are close to or older than 50 years. Needed repairs include the removal of contaminated carpet, exterior/interior paint, retrofitting, and enhanced perimeter security.

Los Angeles River Greenway Studio City Habitat Restoration, Beautification, and Safety Project

 

The intended recipient is the City of Los Angeles, located at 200 N Spring Street, Room 415, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

 

The Project will occur along the south bank of the Los Angeles River from Whitsett Avenue to Laurel Canyon Boulevard in Studio City and include new, native landscaping to replace existing, non-native plantings. The project will also install public lighting, both along the path and along access pathways and seating areas.

Southwest Valley Park Improvements Project

 

The intended recipient is the City of Los Angeles, located at 19040 Vanowen St., Los Angeles, CA 91335.

 

This project will improve and update the park spaces in the City of Los Angeles to make these critical open spaces more conducive to outdoor activities. These improvements – the installation of grass to replace turf, bleachers, running paths, lights, trees, shade structures, etc. will allow the most vulnerable members of our communities find respite and functionality from increased heat in the San Fernando Valley, the hottest part of the City of Los Angeles.

Malibu Canyon Road and Kanan Dume Road Tunnel Lighting Upgrade Project

 

The intended recipient is the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works at 900 S. Fremont Avenue, Alhambra, CA 91803.

 

The project will replace the existing high pressure sodium lighting with energy-saving LED lighting fixtures that provide for the tunnels along Malibu Canyon Road, Kanan Road, and Kanan Dume Road. This upgrade will result in enhanced visibility and overall lighting reliability which will improve driver safety conditions along this road segment.

Santa Monica Mountains Restoration Project

 

The intended recipient is the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA), located at 570 W. Avenue 26, Los Angeles, CA 90065.

 

Lands within the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (SMMNRA) are in need of habitat restoration – in particular brush clearance and the removal of invasive plant species. Such habitat restoration is critical to preserving the wildlife habitat in an area with significant habitat fragmentation, and for wildfire prevention in this fire-prone area.

Sepulveda Basin Pedestrian Safety & Access Improvements

 

The intended recipient is the City of Los Angeles, located at 200 N Main Street Suite 1500, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

 

The project will provide new and enhanced safe pedestrian pathways from underserved neighborhoods into Sepulveda Basin recreation area, providing car-free access to LA28 Olympic Games venues. Improvements include a new crosswalk at the east leg, curb ramps, lighting investments, bike racks, and benches. Additionally, the project will install High-intensity Activated Cross Walk beacons, including new crosswalks at east leg and curb ramps at Petit Ave and Gloria Ave.

West LA Real Time Crime Center

 

The intended recipient is the Los Angeles Police Department, located at 1663 Butler Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90025.

 

This project would work to install a Real Time Crime Center in the WLA LAPD Division and remaining funds used to expand the camera network around the community.

West Los Angeles VA Modular Home Construction

 

Los Angeles County will partner with the Greater Los Angeles VA to advance a proposed project at VA Greater Los Angeles Health Care that would serve as temporary housing under the Care, Treatment and Rehabilitative Services (CTRS) Program.

 

Project: I urge the subcommittee to provide $ 2,000,000 The West Los Angeles VA Modular Home Construction as a community project funding request in fiscal year 2026. 

 

The intended recipient is the Los Angeles County Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, located at 1816 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015.
