CPAs and Accountants Caucus

Originally formed in 2011, the CPAs & Accountants Congressional Caucus focuses its efforts on reforming and revitalizing the American financial system through common-sense fiscal policy and sound budgetary practices

The CPAs Caucus serves as an informal, bipartisan group of Members who are CPAs and is dedicated to working on solutions to address China's compliance with American auditing standards, reforms to the PCAOB, the compliance burden of our tax laws, and recruitment into the accounting profession

"The CPAs Caucus is one of the few truly bipartisan caucuses in Congress. We have been successful in passing legislation. As CPAs we bring a unique approach to fiscal issues," said Congressman Sherman. "I also look forward to the Caucus examining standards for financial reporting and auditing in the private sector, the process around the auditing of federal government agencies, and issues related to tax accounting issues."

"As a CPA and auditor who worked in a variety of industries, taught accounting at Indiana University, and started my own businesses, I understand the importance of sound public accounting. The federal government is sorely lacking in fiscal responsibility and proper accounting, and It's time legislators worked together to change that," said Congresswoman Spartz (R-Ind.). "I am happy to join Rep. Sherman in co-chairing the CPA Caucus."
