Congressman Brad Sherman Helps Introduce Legislation to Restock Israel’s Iron Dome Defense System

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Brad Sherman (CA-32) joined Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24), along with Representatives Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), Max Miller (R-OH), and Brad Schneider (D-IL), to help introduce the "Operation Swords of Iron" Iron Dome Supplemental Appropriations Act that would appropriate $2 billion for Israel's Iron Dome defense system.
"As we witness the level of brutality and immorality by Hamas terrorists, we must support Israel's right to self-defense," said Congressman Brad Sherman. "That is why I helped introduce this vital legislation to help support Israel's Iron Dome defense system and Israel's right to exist."
The importance of the Iron Dome system was on full display when, on October 7th, 2023, Hamas terrorists launched a full-scale attack on Israel, which has thus far killed over 1,000 Israelis, including 11 Americans, and has seen over 100 Israelis taken hostage. In the first few days of this horrendous invasion, Israel's Iron Dome defense system has intercepted over 3,200 rockets.
Additional original cosponsors include Michael Lawler (R-NY), Andrew Garbarino (R-NY), Chris Smith (R-NJ), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Zach Nunn (R-IA), Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Nicholas Langworthy (R-NY), Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL), David Kustoff (R-TN), Jim Banks (R-IN), Jared Moskowitz (D-FL), Anthony D'Esposito (R-NY), Tom McClintock (R-CA), and Lance Gooden (R-TX).
