Congressman Sherman Reacts to Super Committee Failure
November 22, 2011
Washington DC – Following news that the Congressional Super committee failed to reach an agreement on deficit reduction, Congressman Brad Sherman (D – Sherman Oaks, CA), a senior member of the House Financial Services Committee, released the following statement:
"It's disappointing that the committee couldn't even come up with a modest compromise to begin the process of real spending reduction and tax reform to solve our deficit problem. The fact that most Republicans have pledged to never consider revenues shows that they are unwilling to engage in real negotiations. They have pledged away their credibility.
