Hundreds Attend Congressman Brad Sherman’s “Passport Fair”

SHERMAN OAKS, CALIFORNIA – On Saturday, January 27th, Congressman Brad Sherman (CA-32), in cooperation with the Los Angeles Passport Agency, hosted a Passport Fair to help those in need of first-time and renewed passports.
"Among the many aspects of travel that the pandemic disrupted, one issue frustrated many of my constituents – the enormous backlog of U.S. passport applications," said Congressman Sherman. "That's why I was so pleased to see the tremendous turnout for our Passport Fair where we were able to help many cut through the delays and make sense of the whole process. I'm also grateful to the dedicated State Department staff of the Los Angeles Passport Agency for providing excellent assistance and helping ensure a successful event."
Congressman Sherman's Passport Fair received and accepted a total of 454 applications to receive direct assistance applying for a new passport, renewing an expired or nearly-expired passport, securing an emergency passport appointment and more.
While the State Department is on track to issue a record-breaking number of passports and return to pre-pandemic processing times, Congressman Sherman's Constituent Services Team continues to assist residents who are still experiencing higher-than-average delays for passport applications and renewals.
