Israel Defends Against Attacks by Palestinian Islamic Jihad Terrorists

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA), senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement in response to Israel and Gaza militants exchanging fire after deadly strikes and attacks:

"Americans stand with Israel as our ally works to defend its citizens from the terror attacks that are being perpetrated by the heinous Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organization. We are seeing how our long-standing support for Israel is saving countless innocent civilian lives from indiscriminate rocket attacks through the Iron Dome. The U.S. stands ready to further assist our ally as they work to defend their citizens and their right to exist."
