Sherman Marks 2nd Anniversary of the Death of Iranian Mahsa Amini

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Brad Sherman (CA-32) released the following statement to commemorate the two year anniversary of the death of Mahsa Amini, an Iranian woman who died in the custody of the Islamic Republic of Iran's "morality police" after she was arrested for not following a strict Islamic dress code:
"Today we reflect upon the memory of Mahsa Amini whose heinous murder by the Islamic regime galvanized a new generation of brave Iranians to rise and resist the regime's brutal oppression. Two years later, the women of Iran continue to prove Mahsa's death was not in vain. I will always stand shoulder to shoulder with the courageous Iranian people in their quest for a more just and democratic Iran and future liberated from the Islamic regime's brutal and oppresive grasp."
