October 11, 2022

Statement by Congressman Brad Sherman, member of the LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus

Sherman Oaks, CA -- Congressman Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks), member of the Congressional LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus, issued the following statement in observance of "National Coming Out Day" to support the many people who identify as LGBTQ+ as they "come out" (a term stemming from the phrase "come out of the closet") to friends or family about their sexuality and to celebrate the liberation spirit.

"As a member of the LGBTQ+ Caucus, I join those celebrating the bravery & strength of the LGBTQ+ community on National Coming Out Day," said Congressman Sherman. "Coming out is still dangerous in parts of this country & around the world. Know that your identity is valid, no matter where you are in your journey."
