Sherman Statement on Iran Protests

Washington, D.C. -- Congressman Brad Sherman, senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement in response to the recent protests that have consumed Iran following the tragic death of Mahsa Amini by the Iranian regime's so-called "morality police".

"For too long, the Iranian people have been deprived of their fundamental freedoms," exclaimed Congressman Sherman. "Today, Iranian women are bravely standing up to the regime's oppressive laws following the tragic death of Mahsa Amini. It's critical to support those who are fighting for freedom & human rights in Iran."
