WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA), senior Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and Congressional Armenian Caucus, took to the Floor of the House of Representatives where he condemned Azerbaijan's continued blockade of Artsakh and urged for real consequences to be imposed on the Aliyev regime.
"Congress cannot stay silent as Azerbaijan tries to starve and freeze 120,000 Armenians out of Artsakh," said Congressman Sherman. "I urge my colleagues and the Administration to impose real consequences."
Washington, D.C. - Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA), senior Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and member of the Congressional Armenia Caucus, continued to condemn Azerbaijain's continued blockade of Artsakh and urge for a U.S. response.
"For the last month, the people of Artsakh's right to freedom of movement has been upended by Azerbaijan's blockade," said Sherman. "With food and medical supplies in Artsakh running out at alarming rates, the U.S. must put real pressure on Azerbaijan- including by enforcing Section 907."

Washington, DC - Today, Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA) announced the inclusion of over $21 million in funding for U.S.-Israel Cooperative Programming in the government funding bill that President Biden signed last evening. Congressman Sherman led over 80 bipartisan Members in sending a series of letters to the House Appropriations Committee urging the funding of a variety of U.S.-Israel cooperative programs.

Washington, D.C. – "China's most recent aggression in Arunachal Pradesh is yet another reminder of why a strong security partnership with India is crucial to the national security of the United States and our allies. This event marks yet another act of the PRC's threats to Indian territory, including China's premeditated aggression on the line of actual control in 2020 which saw the death of approximately 20 Indian troops.

Washington, D.C. – I am deeply disturbed by reports of a humanitarian calamity currently unfolding in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) as a result of Azerbaijan's continued and unabated campaign of aggression against the Armenian people.
Azerbaijan has reportedly imposed a blockade on the only road connecting Artsakh with Armenia and the primary means by which food, medical supplies and other vital resources are transported to the region. As a result, the lives of Artsakh's 120,000 Armenians, and the prospect for peace in the region, remain in grave jeopardy.

Washington, D.C. -- On November 15th, Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA), senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, was joined by Representatives Judy Chu (D-CA) and Andy Kim (D-NJ), Members of the Korean Assembly and Casey Choi, President of the Korean American Public Action Committee (KAPAC), in front of the United States Capitol to speak on Sherman's bill: the Peace on the Korean Peninsula Act.
Washington, D.C. -- Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA), second ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, strongly condemned an Iranian court's first death sentence linked to recent protests, convicting the unnamed person of "enmity against God" and "spreading corruption on Earth," state media reports. This decision follows weeks of nationwide demonstrations, sparked by the death of Mahsa Amini in September.
Washington, D.C. -- Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA) released the following statement after his discussion with White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan regarding the situation in Ethiopia.
"Last Thursday, I had an extensive discussion on Tigray and Ethiopia with National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, who clearly has an extensive knowledge of this tragic conflict.
I urged that we continue to suspend AGOA and oppose international lending institution loans to Ethiopia until:
Washington, D.C. -- The United States will work to remove Iran from the UN Commission on the Status of Women, US Vice President Kamala Harris announced on November 2nd.
The effort to evict Iran form the 45-member intergovernmental body comes as the Iranian government has tried to suppress nationwide protests following the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in the custody of that nation's so-called "morality police".
Washington, D.C. -- "I welcome the permanent cessation of hostilities in Ethiopia. When millions have suffered unspeakable atrocities, any opportunity for peace is one that cannot be squandered. Most importantly, unrestricted humanitarian aid must enter Tigray immediately.
I am however deeply concerned about reports of ongoing shelling in Tigray since the immediate cessation of hostilities was announced. The peace agreement must be respected and all hostilities must end.
