Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA), the Democratic Chair of the Congressional India Caucus, and Republican Co-Chair Congressman Steve Chabot (R-OH) hosted a Member briefing with the State Department, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to discuss the United States' efforts to assist India with their devastating second wave of COVID-19 infections.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA), the Democratic Chair of the Congressional India Caucus, led the India Caucus leadership and more than 50 of his colleagues in sending a letter to President Biden to urge the administration to bolster the United States' efforts to assist India as they continue to battle a devastating second wave of COVID-19 infections.

Today, on the 106^th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, President Joe Biden became the first U.S. President to formally recognize the systematic murder of 1.5 million Armenian women, men, and children by the Ottoman Empire from 1915 to 1923, as a genocide.

I commend President Biden's historic announcement today. The President's courageous move has put the United States on the side of historic truth in a most powerful way.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA) applauded the decision by President Biden today to impose new sanctions against Russia, policy which closely parallels legislation advanced by Congressman Sherman and Chairwoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) starting in 2019. This action by the President makes clear that the United States will act firmly and forcefully to hold Russia accountable for its aggression against the United States and other nations.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks), reintroduced the Peace and Tolerance in Palestinian Education Act to require the Secretary of State to submit a report to Congress reviewing textbooks produced by the Palestinian Authority (PA). There are concerns that such textbooks include language and imagery that encourage violence and hatred toward other nations and ethnic groups. Such content is particularly concerning given the use of such materials in educational settings for children as young as primary school age.

Washington, D.C. – Today Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA), senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, introduced the War Powers Act EnforcementAct, which would force compliance with the War Powers Act (also known as the War Powers Resolution).

I believe that it is critical to quickly bring Iran back into compliance with the JCPOA, so that the restrictions, inspections, and safeguards in that agreement are put back in place. We must also work to address Iran's other destructive policies, including its support for international terrorism, its support for mass-murder in Syria, Yemen, and Iraq, and its development of missiles capable of delivering nuclear payloads.
