WASHINGTON, D.C. -- I am deeply concerned about the deteriorating health condition of former Georgian President and chairman of the Executive Committee of Ukraine's National Reform Council Mikheil Saakashvili following his arrest by Georgian authorities based on his conviction in absentia on charges that have been widely criticized as politically motivated. Former President Saakashvili's continued detention threatens to deepen political fractures in Georgia and undermine steps towards democratization.

Washington, D.C. – The House voted to adopt an amendment offered by Congressman Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks), Congressman Tony Cardenas (D-CA) and Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) as part of the annual defense authorization bill. The amendment calls for Azerbaijan's immediate release of Armenian prisoners of war and for an investigation into the actions by Turkey and Azerbaijan during their 2020 attacks against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
