Washington, DC – Congressman Brad Sherman, CPA and former head of the nation's second largest tax agency, today reintroduced the Tax Filing Simplification Act to ease the tax filing process for millions of American taxpayers and reduce their costs. Sherman's bill is a companion to legislation reintroduced today by Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).

Sherman Oaks, CA – Today, Congressman Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks) announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will conduct a full Environmental Assessment of new flight routes over the San Fernando Valley.

Last year, Congressman Sherman directed the FAA to complete a full environmental review process that evaluates several alternatives for possible departure routes to address the immediate noise impacting Valley communities.

Senator Dianne Feinstein, Senator Kamala Harris, and Rep. Adam Schiff joined Congressman Sherman's efforts to formally request the FAA participate in a new Aviation Noise Roundtable to directly address community concerns in the Valley.

I have been informed that a series of anti-Semitic flyers have been discovered in the West Valley area of the San Fernando Valley.

The flyers attempt to equate the Jewish Star with the Swastika and are filled with other vulgar, anti-Semitic language.

I know that Valley residents of all faiths condemn this hateful act and those that are responsible for disseminating these flyers around the Valley. Whether in our community, across the nation, or around the world, these types of hateful, anti-Semitic sentiments have no place in modern society.

I stand in solidarity with the Armenian American community in commemorating the February 1988 Sumgait Pogroms. Thirty-one years ago in the Azerbaijani town of Sumgait, peaceful Armenian residents were brutally targeted on the basis of their ethnicity and subjected to unspeakable crimes. In March 1988, The Economist reported the atrocities and documented the murder and mutilation of pregnant Armenian women and newborn babies in a maternity hospital.

Walking away from Hanoi without an agreement or substantive declaration was the right move. No deal is better than a bad deal, and this would have been such a bad deal that Trump could not have sold it even to his base.
