Washington, D.C. – Today the House passed the Protecting the Right to Organize(PRO)Act, which strengthens federal laws that protect workers' right to join a union and it contains a provision that eliminates so-called ‘right-to-work' laws nationwide. This provision is similar to legislation, the Nationwide Right to UnionizeAct, that Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA) and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts) introduced together last week.

Washington, DC - A sad day for our republic, as the Senate did not remove a President who abused his power to benefit himself personally. This impeachment trial, without hearing witnesses or subpoenaing documents, could not even be called a trial at all. Therefore, Trump has not been exonerated.

Sherman has introduced this legislation in every session of Congress since 2008. Today, this bill has 27 original cosponsors in the House. Sherman expects to add additional House co-sponsors in the coming weeks. Sherman consistently earns a 100 percent rating from the AFL-CIO.

A senior member on the Financial Services Committee and Chair of the Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Congressman Brad Sherman sponsored this bill to help address the homelessness crisis in the San Fernando Valley, as well as many other communities around the country.

Sherman Oaks – On Wednesday evening Valley residents participated in an interactive "Telephone Town Hall" hosted by Congressman Brad Sherman(D-Sherman Oaks).

Residents from all over the San Fernando Valley called in and participated in a conversation with Congressman Sherman for over ninety minutes. During this time, the Congressman addressed the questions and concerns of constituents about the historic vote by the House to impeach Donald Trump, gun control, healthcare, and other issues.

In July 2017, I introduced Articles of Impeachment, based on obstruction of justice and clear violations of Section 1512 (B3) of our criminal code, particularly obstruction of the investigation of the now convicted former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.

When the then Republican majority refused to address those articles, I was not surprised.

The final text of the annual defense bill released on December 9, 2019 includes an important provision authored by Congressman Brad Sherman to prevent Saudi Arabia from acquiring nuclear weapons.

The Sherman Amendment requires countries that want to sign an agreement (called a 123 Agreement) to purchase U.S. nuclear technology to agree to the Additional Protocol. The Additional Protocol is the strongest international nuclear safeguards and has been signed by over 130 countries.
