Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Brad Sherman (CA-32), senior Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and Co-Chair of the House Israel Allied Caucus, issued the following statement in response to Iran's launch of a ballistic missile attack against Israel:

"Iran's attack on major Israeli civilian centers show how critical it is that the Iranian regime never have nuclear weapons. Iran and its' proxies seek to eradicate Israel and its people."

Yesterday, I met with Israel’s Economy Minister Nir Barkat in my Washington D.C. office for an hour and a half. I began by expressing my sympathy for the 1,200 Israelis murdered on October 7th during Hamas’s horrific massacre and the roughly 134 hostages who remain in Hamas captivity.

“President Biden is working tirelessly to persuade the House of Representatives to pass the Senate bill, which would provide aid to Ukraine and Taiwan, and also provide $14.1 billion military aid to Israel. I expect that if this bill passes, the President will carry it out according to its terms, and Israel will get the military aid that it needs and deserves.
