The announcement comes 11 years after Congressman Sherman introduced the original bill to allow Israel's entrance into the U.S. Visa Waiver Program. Sherman's Visa Waiver for Israel Act was originally introduced in May of 2012.

Sherman will be the group's number two ranking Democrat.

Washington, DC -- As the U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass a resolution proclaiming that Israel is "not a racist or apartheid state", Congressman Brad Sherman (CA-32) made a passionate speech on the House Floor defending Israel while slamming Republican's hypocrisy on antisemitism.
"We can't fight antisemitism if either side is only willing to get tough on it when politically convenient," proclaimed Sherman in a fiery speech.

Today follows the day of remembrance for Israel's fallen soldiers and terror victims, and the day of remembrance for victims of the Shoah. One reminds us of the cost of having Israel, the other demonstrates the cost of not having Israel.
Washington, D.C. -- Israeli police say at least seven people were killed and three were injured in a shooting near a synagogue in Jerusalem in what police chief Yaakov Shabtai described as "one of the worst terror attacks in the past few years."
"Horrified and outraged to learn that, yet again, an act of Palestinian terrorism has stolen the lives of innocent Israeli civilians - this time, at least 7 attending Shabbat services," said Congressman Brad Sherman.
