Washington, D.C. – The House voted to adopt an amendment offered by Congressman Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks), Congressman Tony Cardenas (D-CA) and Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) as part of the annual defense authorization bill. The amendment calls for Azerbaijan's immediate release of Armenian prisoners of war and for an investigation into the actions by Turkey and Azerbaijan during their 2020 attacks against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

Washington, D.C. – Last night, the House voted to adopt Congressman Brad Sherman's (D-Sherman Oaks) and Chair of the House Financial Services Committee Maxine Waters' (D-CA) amendment to punish Russian interference in U.S. elections in 2016, 2018 and 2020. The Sherman-Waters amendment prohibits Americans from purchasing Russian sovereign debt.

In this letter, Congressman Sherman seeks information related to SEC oversight as it relates to activities carried out by Renren leadership as well as whether the Commission has the tools necessary to effectively protect investors.

Congressman Brad Sherman announced that nearly $900,000 in federal funds for projects in the San Fernando Valley have been advanced by Congressional panels.

This week the House Appropriations Committee advanced both the Interior and Financial Services federal funding bills, which included two community projects requested by Congressman Sherman.

The funds requested by Congressman Sherman are to both provide technical assistance to small businesses in the San Fernando Valley and to reduce fire risks in our region while also restoring public park land.
