WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA), senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement in response to Israel and Gaza militants exchanging fire after deadly strikes and attacks:
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House voted to adopt an amendment led by Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA), Chair of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Investor Protection and Capital Markets, as part of the annual defense authorization bill. The amendment will require that China-based issuers of certain unregistered securities provide basic information about themselves to the U.S.

The historic, bipartisan amendment calls for the strengthening of the U.S.-India defense partnership in response to increasing threats in the Indo-Pacific region.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House voted to adopt an amendment led by Congressman Tony Cárdenas (D-CA) and Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA) as part of the annual defense authorization bill. The amendment calls for an investigation into Azerbaijani war crimes that were committed against Armenians in Artsakh.
We are thrilled that, after many years of advocacy for a Voice of America (VOA) Sindhi language program, Voice of America announced that it has launched a Sindhi language webpage.
There is perhaps nowhere in the world more important for the United States to battle extremism with public diplomacy than in Pakistan, a nuclear-armed state with significant security challenges. VOA outreach in Pakistan will be far more effective with VOA communicating in the Sindhi language.

Washington, D.C. – Today the House passed Congressman Brad Sherman's (D-CA)H.R. 7066 theRussia and Belarus Financial Sanctions Act which directs U.S. financial institutions to ensure their subsidiaries, including foreign branches, comply with U.S. sanctions against Russia and Belarus. This legislation representsan important step towards enhancing the effectiveness of the U.S. sanctions imposed to cripple the economies of Russia and Belarus in response to the historic act of aggression against Ukraine.
